Each visit

What Happens During a Test & Connect Visit?

  1. A friendly, scheduled in-person visit.
  2. Conversation and a general well-being check.
  3. A test of their existing medical alert button, when they have one and with their permission.
  4. A look for visible equipment concerns or contact information that may need updating.
  5. A brief update to an authorized family member, if requested.

A working button matters. So does having someone stop by.

Pressing the button is the quick part. The rest of the visit is time together, and a regular chance to notice small changes before they become big ones.

How the button test works

Testing goes through their existing monitoring provider, following that provider's steps. Red Desert Check-In does not provide medical alert monitoring, emergency dispatch, or equipment repair, and does not access or change monitoring accounts.

A test shows whether the button worked at the time of the visit. It cannot guarantee how the equipment or an emergency response will perform later.

No medical alert? They can still join at the same price. We skip the test, and I can share local options from the Community Board.

Spend the visit their way

Walk

A short walk, fresh air, and conversation.

We walk side by side at their pace. I do not provide hands-on support.

Talk

Coffee, stories, or simply someone who listens.

Play

Cards, a puzzle, a board game, or reading together.

More Benefits for Test & Connect Members

Active members pay less for any extra service they need.

Additional service Regular Member
Home Safety Assessment $175 $155
Home Safety Re-Check $95 $75
Additional Personal Check-In $70 $55
After a Fall or Hospital Stay $265 $235

These services are optional. They are not included in the monthly membership and are billed separately when you request them. Member pricing also applies to active Seasonal Home Watch members.

Priority Check-In: an extra visit outside the regular schedule, for when you cannot reach your loved one or something feels off. Available only to active members, depending on scheduling, service area, and availability. It is not an emergency service. If someone may be hurt or in danger, call 911.

Why this service exists

Built from years on the other end of the button.

Before Red Desert Check-In, I spent about 10 years working in medical alert emergency dispatch, taking the calls that come in when someone presses their button. Those years taught me what families worry about most: a fall no one knew about, a parent who has been alone too long, a phone that rings with no answer, and a medical alert no one has tested in months.

Test & Connect is built around those worries. A regular visit means someone checks the button, notices how things are going, and lets you know.

Common questions

Good to know before you start.

How does the three-month minimum work?

Every plan starts with a three-month minimum. After that, it continues month to month until you cancel. To cancel, let me know before your next billing date.

How are visits scheduled?

We pick a regular day and time on the free call, and visits are scheduled in advance. If you need to move a visit, give me at least 24 hours' notice and we will find another time. Openings are limited, so the earlier you ask, the easier it is to find a time that works.

How does billing work?

Plans are billed monthly, on the same date each calendar month. The price stays the same each month. Every 2 Weeks and Weekly visits follow their actual schedule, so some months include one more visit than others. Venmo, card, or cash.

What does the medical alert test involve?

With your loved one's permission, I press the button and test the base unit, following their provider's testing steps, and confirm the monitoring center received the signal. I do not access or change accounts, and I do not repair equipment. If something looks off, I will help you contact the provider.

What if they don't have a medical alert?

They can still join at the same price. The visit is conversation, a well-being check, and the activity they choose. If you would like, I can share local medical alert options from the Community Board.

Is this an emergency service?

No. Red Desert Check-In is not an emergency response service and does not monitor medical alerts. In an emergency, call 911.

Do you drive clients anywhere?

No. I do not provide transportation.
